3 cups Flour
1 cup Dark Sugar
1 bottle Stout
2 tbsp Butter / Margarine
1/2 tbsp Marmalade
1 tbsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
2 tbsp Benjamins Vanilla
3 tbsp Baking Powder
1 tbsp Molasses (optional)
1 tbsp Honey
2 tbsp Butter / Margarine
1-2 tbsp Mixed Spice
1 tbsp Strawberry Jam
1-2 tbsp Benjamins Browning
Raisins
Cherries(optional)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Flour

  • 1 cup Dark Sugar

  • 1 bottle Stout

  • 2 tbsp Butter / Margarine

  • 1/2 tbsp Marmalade

  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg

  • 2 tbsp Benjamins Vanilla

  • 3 tbsp Baking Powder

  • 1 tbsp Molasses (optional)

  • 1 tbsp Honey

  • 2 tbsp Butter / Margarine

  • 1-2 tbsp Mixed Spice

  • 1 tbsp Strawberry Jam

  • 1-2 tbsp Benjamins Browning

  • Raisins

  • Cherries(optional)

Instructions

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease pan generously and set aside.

Heat stout, sugar, molasses, honey, marmalade, jam, butter/margarine and browning on a very low flame, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Remove from flame. Allow to cool then add vanilla.

Mix all dry ingredients, blend well. Add egg, blend, then pour into greased pan.

Bake for one (1) hour or until toothpick inserted into centre comes out clean.

Apply glaze when cool.

For Glaze

1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Water Boil together to form thick syrup
