Ingredients
1/2 loaf French bread
1/2 cup Classico Pasta Sauce
1 cup Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 can (106g) Brunswick Sardines in Tomato Sauce
1/4 cup sweet green pepper (cut into strips)
2 plummy tomatoes (thinly sliced)
1/4 cup mushroom (sliced)
4 strips bacon (fried and cut into pieces)
Method
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F / 204 degrees C.
Split the half loaf French bread lengthwise with a bread knife. Remove the middle of the bread of depth of 1/2 inch (1 cm) from both the top and bottom cut portion, making sure to leave the outer crust intact. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or on aluminum foil, edges turned up to contain dripping.
Spread Classico Pasta Sauce over the bread and sprinkle Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese on top. Flake the Brunswick Sardines in Tomato Sauce with a fork. Spread sardines, green pepper, tomatoes and mushrooms evenly over the cheese layer.
Transfer bread with toppings on baking sheet or on foil to oven and bake for approx. 15 mins or until heated through.
A bacon and garnish with fresh parsley and basil, if desired.
Serving suggestions: Replace vegetables with your own favourite varieties. Pizza can also be cut into smaller pieces and served as appetizers.
