Jamaican Sorrel Rum Drink Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh sorrel

  • 2 oz fresh ginger (grated)

  • 10 pimento grains

  • 1 cup white rum (you can pour as much rum as you wish)

  • sugar (sweeten taste)

  • 2 qtz water (8 cups)

Method

In a container, wash sorrel thoroughly with hand, using the fingers to lift it from the water.

Place washed sorrel in a stainless steel container.

Add peeled and washed ginger to container along with pimento grains and water.

Put to boil for 3-5 minutes then turn off heat.

Leave to brew overnight or at least 4-6 hours.

Strain sorrel flower and pimento.

Add sugar to sweeten taste

Add rum to taste

Put to chill

Serve with ice. Enjoy!
